Matthew Matt James was conceived in North Carolina, on the 5th of December, 1991. Matthew Matt James is the mixed race child of Manny James (of Jamaican descent) as well as Patty James. He has a Nigerian father and a Caucasian mother. In 2010, James was a graduate of Sanderson High School. Then, he went to Wake Forest University in order to obtain a Bachelor's of Science in Economics. James was first known for his part as The Bachelorette's reality star. James was chosen in the year 2020 to be the bachelor for season 25 of The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The show premiered 2021.
